Abstract

The majority of students tend to ignore efforts to learn how to use technology effectively. Many students still spend more time on social media to socialize than using digital platforms for learning purposes. Undirected use of social media can reduce their ability to access and analyze information critically. This study aims to analyze the effect of the use of multimodal learning in learning in technology literacy courses and students' learning skills on the level of digital literacy. The population in this study were 225 students of the 2024-2025 academic year, Level III students of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education. The type of research used is quantitative research with a survey method. The data collection technique used is through the distribution of questionnaires. The data analysis technique was carried out using multiple regression. The results of the study showed that there was a positive and significant influence, both partially and simultaneously, between multimodal learning and learning skills on students' digital literacy competencies. Increasing competency and skills in mastering digital literacy and optimizing multimodal-based learning for students in the 21st century, which is often referred to as the digitalization era, is very much needed. Efforts to increase and build awareness and capacity in digital literacy through multimodal learning can facilitate students to be able to compete and adapt to technological developments in the future.
