THE EFFECT OF USING A PROBLEM-BASED LEARNING MODEL ON CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS IN TERMS OF EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE

The background of the problem in this research is students' low critical thinking skills. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of using the Problem Based Learning on the critical thinking skills of class XI AK students at Budi Tresna Vocational School, to determine the effect between students who have high emotional intelligence and low emotional intelligence on the critical thinking skills of class XI AK students at SMK Budi Tresna and to determine the effect of the interaction between the Problem Based Learning on critical thinking skills in terms of the emotional intelligence of class XI AK students at Budi Tresna Vocational School. The research location is at SMK Budi Tresna Sumber Cirebon. The research population was all class XI students of the Accounting Vocational School class which consisted of 51 students. This type of research is quasi-experimental with a 2 X 2 factorial research design. Research data collection uses a questionnaire and tests of critical thinking skills. Data analysis technique uses two-way ANOVA. The results showed that there was a significant effect of using the Problem Based Learning on students' critical thinking skills who obtained results of 0.000 <0.05, there was a significant influence between students who had high emotional intelligence and students who had low emotional intelligence on students' critical thinking skills who obtained results of 0.002 <0.05 and there is an interaction between the Problem Based Learning students' critical thinking skills in terms of emotional intelligence with a significant value of 0.000 <0.05.
