Abstract
The rapid expansion of QRIS adoption among Generation Z in sub-urban Indonesia raises questions about whether digital payment convenience accelerates impulsive spending or instead strengthens financial discipline. This study aims to examine the influence of financial literacy and QRIS utilization intensity on the control of consumptive behavior among Generation Z in Majenang District, Central Java, Indonesia. A quantitative approach with a survey method was employed, involving 138 respondents selected through purposive sampling, with data analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results show that financial literacy and QRIS utilization intensity each have a positive and significant effect on consumptive behavior control, both partially and simultaneously. These findings indicate that, rather than accelerating impulsive spending, high-intensity QRIS usage functions as an effective digital financial tracking mechanism that reinforces behavioral discipline when supported by sound financial literacy. This study contributes to shifting the paradigm of digital wallets from drivers of predatory consumption toward instruments of financial sovereignty within an underexplored sub-urban context.
